Oxygenate, Rejuvenate, Elevate with Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy (HBOT)

60 Minutes, 5 Sessions

Oxygen in a pressurized environment to increase oxygen levels to all areas of the body.

Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy (HBOT) is oxygen therapy.  HBOT is a powerful treatment used to aid in the healing of many conditions and illnesses. Individuals who undergo this unique form of therapy sit or lay in a controlled environment called a chamber, with higher levels of oxygen and increased atmospheric pressure. Together, the pressure and high oxygen concentration help to oxygenate the blood, which can facilitate cellular regeneration, healing of wounds, and decreases in inflammation levels. The therapy can treat burns and sores, concussions, sports injuries, and decompression syndrome, among other ailments.

Benefits of Service:

  • Enhanced Healing: Accelerates the healing of wounds, particularly chronic and non-healing ones.
  • Reduced Inflammation: Decreases swelling and inflammation, aiding in faster recovery.
  • Improved Oxygenation: Increases oxygen delivery to tissues, promoting cellular repair and overall health.
  • Boosted Immune System: Enhances the body's natural immune response, helping to fight infections.
  • Pain Relief: Alleviates pain from injuries, surgeries, and certain medical conditions.
  • Better Circulation: Improves blood flow, supporting cardiovascular health.
  • Neurological Benefits: Supports brain health and recovery from conditions like stroke, traumatic brain injury, and neurodegenerative diseases.
  • Enhanced Athletic Performance: Speeds up muscle recovery and reduces fatigue, benefiting athletes.
  • Improved Skin Health: Promotes healing of skin conditions and enhances overall skin appearance.

FAQs:

What do I wear?

Comfortable layered clothing is recommended. We provide amenities like pillows and blankets for your comfort.

How long is the session?

Sessions last 60 minutes, ensuring optimal therapeutic benefits.

How does it feel?

Initially, you may experience pressure changes similar to a commercial airline flight, but the session becomes comfortable as you acclimate.

What should I expect during my hyperbaric oxygen therapy session?

During your hyperbaric oxygen therapy (HBOT) session, you'll be comfortably inside a pressurized chamber. The chamber will gradually increase in pressure, and you'll breathe nearly 100% pure oxygen. You might feel a sensation in your ears similar to what you experience during altitude changes, like on an airplane; swallowing or yawning can help alleviate this. The session typically lasts 60 minutes. You can sleep, relax, and use personal electronic devices while inside our chamber.

How many sessions will I need?

The number of sessions required varies depending on the specific condition being treated, its severity, and individual response to therapy. For acute conditions a few sessions may be sufficient. However, for chronic conditions a typical treatment course may involve 20 or more, conducted over several weeks. Your healthcare provider will determine the appropriate number of sessions based on your needs and response to treatment.

What if I'm claustrophobic?

Many people find the chamber to be comfortable, but if you are prone to claustrophobia, let your wellness advisor know. They can help you feel more at ease and monitor you closely during the session.

What pressure does the chamber use?

Our chambers are soft-sided “Mild Chambers” that use 1.3 ATA (atmosphere absolute) and 4.2 psi (pounds per square inch) for approximately 11-14 feet depth of pressure.

What is the difference between Mild Chamber and Hard Chamber?

The main difference between mild hyperbaric chambers and hard hyperbaric chambers lies in their operating pressures. Mild chambers operate at lower pressures, up to 1.3 atmospheres absolute (ATA), and are commonly used for wellness purposes, while hard chambers operate at higher pressures, typically around 3.0 ATA, and are used for medical treatments requiring higher oxygen concentrations and pressures, along with a doctor’s supervision.

Science Behind the Service:

Hyperbaric oxygen therapy (HBOT) involves breathing pure oxygen in a pressurized chamber. This increased pressure allows more oxygen to dissolve in the blood and reach tissues that are usually low in oxygen. The extra oxygen helps speed up the healing process, reduce inflammation, and fight infections.

A notable study titled "Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy: A Review of Mechanisms and Indications" published in Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery in 2017 provides an overview of how HBOT works and its clinical applications.
